Fonts, icons and sounds are inside the app and a content security policy forbids remote loads, so every screen renders with the network switched off.
warning macOS Troubleshooting
If you encounter an error saying "App is damaged" or "Cannot be opened" on macOS, please run this command in your Terminal:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Workflow.appFour screens, and that is the whole application
No dashboard to configure and no workspace to set up. Open it, press play, get on with your work.
Home
The ring, the time logged today against your daily target, your streak, and the play, pause, adjust and save controls. Pomodoro mode swaps the ring for work and break cycles.
Companies
Add, rename and remove the clients you bill. Mark the ones whose sessions must carry a note, and Workflow will ask you for one before it saves.
Work History
Every session you have saved, grouped by week, with filters for company, date range and whether the day met its target. Edit, re-attribute or delete anything.
Settings
Your daily target, the four Pomodoro durations, notification and sound preferences, and - kept deliberately hard to reach - the button that erases everything.
Your hours stay on your machine
Workflow keeps everything in one SQLite database in your own user data folder. There is no account to create, nothing to sign in to, and no server that ever sees a client name or an hour you worked.
One file, and it is yours
Windows: %APPDATA%\workflow-timer\.
macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/workflow-timer/.
Back it up by copying the folder while Workflow is closed.
Upgrades keep your history
Installing over an older version migrates your database in place, and copies it into a backup folder first. A version older than your database refuses to open it rather than writing to it.
One request, and you can stop it
Workflow asks GitHub once a day whether a newer version exists, and sends nothing about you when it does. What it sends, and how to switch it off.
Download
Every release carries four installers. They are unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen warns you the first time and macOS needs the command above.
